Singers raise hundreds for charity

Monday 25th March 2019

The second Sing for St. Vincent’s Event which took place on Monday 18th March has raised more £400 for the local charity as part of the Lochwinnoch Arts Festival.

Hosted by the Lochwinnoch Choral Society Choir to raise money and awareness for St. Vincent’s Hospice, the event aimed to get as many people as possible together for an evening of songs and laughter for a good cause.

One of the event organisers, Dr Morag Thow, said: “The Hospice holds a special place in the heart of a lot of people in the community, and as a result the evening was a great success, raising £400 for a great cause.

“I have been involved with the Hospice for the last four years and have seen first-hand the amazing difference that the team there can make to patients and their loved ones. Donations like this are absolutely essential for allowing that to happen, and we are delighted to have been able to do our part with our second Sing for St. Vincent’s Event.”

Based in the outskirts of Howwood, for more than 30 years St. Vincent’s Hospice has been at the heart of the community offering care and support for patients and families who have been affected by life-limiting conditions.

Trust and Legacy Officer for St. Vincent’s Hospice, June Burgess, said: “I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along and joined in on the night.

“Out of every £1, we use 92p directly on our caring work, so you can rest assured that your support will be making a real difference to local people, ensuring the highest possible standards of care to those who need it most.”
