Dry cleaner helps local lion stay fresh and fluffy
Thursday 26th July 2018
Harrod’s Dry Cleaners in Bridge of Weir are supporting St. Vincent’s Hospice in a very unique way by making sure their mascot, Vinnie the Lion, stays fresh and fluffy by cleaning him completely free of charge.
Harrod’s, which has been a long-term supporter of St. Vincent’s, is an award winning dry cleaner with more than 30 years of experience in the industry. Combining craftsmanship with the most advanced techniques of fabric care, every piece of clothing (or costume) which pass through the establishment go through a seven stage cleaning process, including fabric evaluation and hand inspection.
Discussing the support, Fundraiser for St. Vincent’s Hospice, Laura McDade, said: “We cannot thank Harrod’s enough for their generosity and time, making sure our Mascot Vinnie is always ready to meet children and grown-ups alike from all across Renfrewshire.
“Every penny generated by St. Vincent’s Hospice goes directly towards helping us to continue to deliver care for people and families affected by life limiting conditions, and acts of kindness like this make such a huge difference in allowing us to do this. The reaction Vinnie gets whenever he enters a room is amazing, you can see and feel how excited and happy all the children are to see him and Harrod’s have never failed to make sure he is looking his best!”
St. Vincent’s Hospice is a specialist provider of palliative care, offering support for individuals affected by life limiting conditions, in their Inpatient Unit, Day Hospice and in people’s own homes across the community. They also offer bereavement services and support for children and young people, who have suffered the loss of a loved one.
Commenting on his support Adil Khan from Harrod’s Cleaner’s said: “At Harrod’s we have more than 30-years history with the local community, a second generation business, and we have always been keen to support local causes in whatever way possible.
“As St. Vincent’s celebrate their 30th anniversary, it only seems fitting that we are doing our part to help them continue to do the amazing work they do. We pride ourselves on delivering an excellent result every single time, and we are thrilled to make sure Vinnie is always ‘groomed’ and ready to meet his public.”
