Kick Start Summer with the Hike and Bike Challenge
Thursday 05th April 2018
On Saturday 26 May, St. Vincent’s Hospice are giving you the chance to kick start your summer with a new challenge and take on their Loch Lomond Hike and Bike event.
The Challenge begins with a 7.5 mile run along the West Highland Way to Inversnaid, followed by a 34-mile cycle back via the quiet roads to Rowardennan, with all proceeds going towards supporting the Hospice.
For 30 years, St. Vincent’s Hospice has been a specialist provider of end of life and hospice care for people and families impacted by life limiting conditions They do this in their In-patient Unit, Day Hospice and throughout the community in people’s own homes. They are also one of the few organisations to offer a bereavement support service for children and young people following the loss of a significant person in their life.
Discussing the event, Senior Fundraiser at St. Vincent’s Hospice, Carol-Anne Lamont, said: “The Hike and Bike Challenge is a fantastic opportunity to drive yourself to do something extraordinary and raise money for charity. The route will take you along some of the most beautiful scenery our country has to offer, taking a run (or walk) along the shores of Loch Lomond and the West Highland Way before heading back on your bike via Aberfoyle and Drymen.
“This is an ideal opportunity for any fitness enthusiast, but equally if you are looking to try something new, you can do this at your own pace and even team up with a friend for the cycling portion as a relay.”
“We are only able to offer the support we do for the community thanks to the generosity of our supporters, so please, make 2018 the year you do something really special. Sign up for our Bike and Hike Challenge, and put yourself to the test.”
