The Big Conversation
Tuesday 14th May 2019
The McKillop Institute, Lochwinnoch
St. Vincent’s Hospice is launching The Big Conversation, a new community outreach service to encourage open, supportive discussions on issues related to death, dying and bereavement.
Beginning on Tuesday 14 May 2019 in the McKillop Institute from 2pm to 4pm, the Big Conversation is a series of informal meetings that aim to raise public awareness and help overcome fears around discussing these sensitive topics.
Open to any adult in Renfrewshire, the events will also offer access to information and professional advice to help with practical planning for the future.
Chief Executive of St. Vincent’s Hospice, Kate Lennon, said: “Providing a safe place that allows people to talk freely and share together can be a beneficial and therapeutic experience. We will encourage everyone who attends to make the most of their lives.”
While Hospice staff will be present, the events are not intended to provide grief support or counselling, and therefore may not be appropriate for someone who has recently suffered the loss of a loved one.
Entry is free, with refreshments provided, so if you would like to reserve your place at the meeting on Tuesday 14 May, please contact June Burgess at St. Vincent’s Hospice by calling 01505 705 635 or email June.Burgess@svh.co.uk.
