Carolling at Christmas

Tuesday 20th November 2018

As part of their music therapy project alongside Nordoff Robbins, St. Vincent’s Hospice are excited to announce that they are offering you the chance to get into the festive spirit and join their Carolling at Christmas event on Tuesday 18th of December.

The Hospice are not only encouraging people to come along to watch on the night between 6-8pm, but also to join the choir, spread some holiday cheer and see the positive difference music can make to the lives of our patients, family, staff, volunteers and service users.

Rehearsals will take place on Tuesday 4th and 11th December from 6pm – 7pm, with no previous singing experience required.

Laura Burns, Music Therapist from Nordoff Robbins, said: “Carolling at Christmas is part of a music therapy project funded by The D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust, and as a result I have been working with the patients, loved ones and the staff of St. Vincent’s Hospice for three months now, and I am really excited to invite everyone in the community to get involved this Christmas.

“Music has a universal power to reach us all, and our therapy uses elements of music to break down barriers of illness, or disability, and builds bridges to help with self-expression and social contact.

“This Christmas, why not try something new? Something different? Join our choir, spread some festive spirit and see the benefit this has had to the patients of St. Vincent’s Hospice. And if singing isn’t your thing, please come along and show your support on Tuesday the 18th!”

St. Vincent’s Hospice is a specialist provider of palliative and Hospice care for individuals and families affected by life-limiting conditions from across Renfrewshire.
